Screamer News and Updates: December 2020
It's finally the end of this year, which seemed to be going excellently until mid-March.
Analytics
Generally, Screamer Wiki averages around 2,000 viewers per day, but there were two spikes in the past month.
First Spike
The first spike occurred on November 20, 2020. The spike itself was way smaller than the second spike.
Second Spike
On December 6th, we had a nearly 8,000 user spike. Over half of our users (58.4%) in that past week were from France (Normally most are from USA), which likely means some big French creator or something must have mentioned us.
The spike does not appear in any other country except for France.
Both of the spikes were for Kekma.net.
If you are an admin, you can access the analytics and other parts of the YunoHost portal by request.
Changes to Improve the Quality of the Wiki
There has been a ton of low quality pages made on the wiki recently. To combat this, short stubs will be put into draft status, which does not allow the pages to show when clicking "Random page."
Once the wiki gets updated to 1.35.0, VisualEditor will become enabled, which will allow users to edit way more easily.
Also SSO will be enabled in order to allow Screamer Wiki in other languages.
Changes to User Rights
These are now the minimum guidelines for becoming admin.
Treat others with gracious professionalism.
Be able to read and write at a native level.
Be at least 13 years old.
Have an account that is at least 30 days old.
(Users made admin before these requirements are grandfathered from these requirements)
Other Things
Kudos to Kekma.net for being in the top 500,000 websites on Alexa. That takes a ton of viewership and interaction (Screamer Wiki, for comparison, is currently in the top 2,645,080)
Flash is being discontinued at the end of the month. There will be a forum post about how to get around this later.
